140 practitioners signed up for the online Society Summit ‘Supporting the immune system in an evolving world.’

Speakers Anthony Bickley, Dr Lindsay Browning, Dr Ron Whitmont, Dr Marilyn Glenville, Peter Jackson-Main and Manfred Mueller delivered an interesting and varied programme covering homeopathy, sleep, nutrition and herbalism. Joint Q & A sessions with the speaker panel gave delegates the opportunity to ask questions and hear views from across the range of therapies.

The first speaker of the day was Dr Lindsay Browning, a chartered psychologist, neuroscientist, author and sleep expert.  Dr Browning talked about how sleep is vital for our immune system.   How we need sleep for growth, and to consolidate what we learn. She spoke about the effects of sleep deprivation, and how we are all different in our sleep needs.

Homeopath and popular lecturer, Anthony Bickley RSHom (Rtd), looked at helping the immune system with the bowel nosodes.   Anthony differentiated the individual bowel nosodes, by looking at their ability to adapt, and their reaction to change – whether they are active or passive, then matching this to the disease process. He looked at some auto immune disease conditions, and related the bowel nosode remedy pictures.

The final speaker of the morning, nutritionist Dr Marilyn Glenville, presented masses of useful information about supplements, herbal support, and nutritional advice for supporting our immunity.

After lunch, Peter Jackson-Maine gave a view of immunity from a herbalist’s point. Peter gave lots of practical advice about using herbal supplements safely.

​

This was followed by a fascinating presentation from Dr Ron Whitmont a homeopath MD. Dr Whitmont spoke live from the USA, about immunity and the microbiome, and the importance of bacterial diversity in relation to the severity of illness, and immune inflammatory response.

The final speaker of the day, also in the USA, was homeopath Manfred Mueller, talking about homeopathy and allergies. Giving examples of acute cases and remedies, he also talked about susceptibility, and the ‘immune imbalance which leads to allergic reactions.’

The Summit welcomed members from the community from partnership organisations around the globe and received an excellent response.
